Project Plug-In - Episode 1

Is it time? 

Time to make the biggest change in the 23 years since I passed my driving test…..? 

I think it’s time to join the electric vehicle revolution…. 

Eeeeek!  

As someone who is passionate about cars, and works in an industry I love (automotive), I am still full of trepidation.  

It’s not until you look through the lens of the Consumer, that it all becomes real. 

This isn’t a company car that I’ll have for a few months, it’s me parting with my hard-earned money (ALOT of money - have you seen the price of EVs?!?), and me owning a car that will need to service my business life and my personal time. 

There are so many acronyms though - even for someone who works in the industry - and so many things to consider. 

And yes, there is also range anxiety because I don’t have a regular commute. My day can be anything from 0 miles (working from home), to 500 miles driving to a client site (and anything in between). 

So, I’m reaching out to my network for support along the way, and will document my journey from ICE (internal combustion engine) to EV as part of "Project Plug-In". 

Be ready for questions….lots of questions!

P.P.S. Whilst doing some EV research last weekend, I came across a table in a restaurant in the shape of a car, as you can see in the picture. Not quite what I had in mind, and definitely not an EV, but very cool nonetheless! What do you think, does it suit me?!
